There is no doubt that visually the game looks amazing with some of the best graphics ever seen in Age of Empires series. But the developers seem to have concentrated on graphics, more realistic size. An exception is that you are supported by your nation European home in your quest to plunder the New World, there is something unseen in earlier versions.
But it is the attention to detail and infidelity to the reality of the story that really lets the game down. Age of Empires, the American Indians portrayed as a mercenary rather than spiritual tribes and the gold mines suddenly appear in hundreds of years before they ever made!
Age of Empires 3 looks great and has the potential to be a good game but the developers will probably have to pay more attention to historical facts, as the same graphics.
